Found this M/NH pair of possible telegraph stamps? Overprinted with WCAM, and 'Verified Reception Stamp' Any value to these? Thanks!

Probably not telegraph stamps. Looks like something for a Ham Radio or short wave listener. Way back when I would let a radio station knew that I heard their signal. WCAM is a radio station in Camden SC. Just guessing but a stamp might be sent in appreciation of notification as to strength of signal and distance. |

If you google ekko radio reception stamps, you will find some information. These are "Cinderellas" distributed by radio stations. At one time an album was available for collectors. A number of these can be found on ebay for about $5.00 each. |

You will note the letters "ekko" in the corners. These were printed by the American Bank Note Co., probably the largest security printer of its time. They printed stamps, currency, and stock certificates for countries and companies around the world. Most of their work featured complex and beautiful engraving. ABNC finally closed about 25 years ago. |

Available from Eric Jackson from ebay or his website. He also has one die proof available on his website, "Canada Beaver design, die proof in green, india die sunk on 152x229mm card, American Bank Note Co. impirnt and die number 51948." If you search ebay with "EKKO" in "stamps" there are currently over 50 for sale. In the completed history 231 sold in the last 90 days. Including for $1200.00 a two volume album set with one 1924 EKKO Broadcasting Station Stamp Album with 99 EKKO stamps and a second Radio Stamp Album 1925 published by Des Moines Publishing Company with 221 stamps, EKKO and other wise. The EKKO stamps can be found on postally used covers as an added label. More information can be found here: https://goscf.com/t/8278 regarding EKKO. [Edit: Jim, you're welcome. VVV ] |

While most of these can be bought for around $5-$10 some rare ones can get pretty pricy. Jim's catalogue is an excellent reference and includes values. There are also dozens and dozens that are "unknown". Check out the sold listings on ebay. |

Can any member offer a Catalogue ID for this NY Stock Transfer please? If I have this correct (RD30) in not the best shape. Is it really worth a suggested cat price of c$35 |

The NY state stock transfer looks to me like ST111, which came into use about 1924. The design of the 2 is a re-engraving of the numeral. Information from the The State Revenue Catalog, available form the State Revenue Society. Catalog value is a minimal 25˘.

Quote: For such beautiful and old stamps, I was hoping for some good value Sadly, that's a common mistake: age and beauty matter little in philately, at least for value. And "old" in this hobby only really starts at pre-1870, at least for me (some would say the modern era begins in 1857 with perforated stamps). |
