Just for you to mull over: The US Transportation Coil series has several different paper varieties. I do not think Scott mentions any in their "specialized" catalog. What makes you look for paper varieties in these French stamps?

just-fella, in my question above I tried to show you that paper varieties are a very specialized and very difficult area, hence you won't find info in most commonly used catalogs. As I stated to you before, you really need to look for this in specialty stamp clubs, or in stamp clubs in the country in question. As an example, here in the States PNC3 is a stamp club specializing in US plate number coils. They have in the past issued a catalog that does have information on paper varieties. But I would not really know how to find this same type of information on the European countries you have asked about.

thanks Peter Most of the paper varieties are listed in Maury (unlike USA stamps it's more common, I guess?) There are other catalogues that may list something yvert, Ceres Unfortunately I don't have all of them :) So I ask, any listings that I may have missed? I figured this is where people come to talk stamps so a good place to start. |

Anyone have one on Bristol that would be kind enough to share a couple up close photos of it?
