On November 2, 2004 Great Britain issued its six-value Christmas set. The 68 p stamp (SG #2499) from this set shows Father Christmas on a rooftop holding a flashlight/torch.  |

Here is Luxembourg's May 9, 2004 fifty cent stamp (Sc #1140) commemorating the Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. The artwork for this stamp features flag and torch bearers. It was done by a schoolgirl Alexandra Bliska.  |

This self-adhesive, "local addresses" (20c) stamp (SG #779) of Singapore is one of five different designs from the September 14, 1994 booklet of 10 (5 x 2) Greetings stamps. It depicts a birthday cake with lit candles.  |

Here is the 20c value (Sc #314) from Switzerland's February 27, 1948 four-stamp set commemorating the centenary of the Swiss Confederation (federal state). Stamp shows Helvetia aloft carrying a torch.  |

In 1966, 34 British Commonwealth nations and territories participated in an omnibus issue commemorating Great Britain's WWII wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Here is the $2 value (Sc #228) from Hong Kong's set of 4 stamps. Stamp depicts Churchill with a background of searchlights scanning the sky above St. Paul's Cathedral during an air attack on London.  |

On November 17, 1989 Guernsey issued a miniature sheet of 12 (3 x 4) different 10p stamps with the overall sheet showing a Christmas tree. Each stamp depicts a different ornament on the tree, and this one (Sc #421c) shows lit candles.  |
