USPS "Order Complete" Status

I ordered stamps last week from the USPS website and for the past few days, my order status displays as "Order Complete", but when I click on the order to find out more information it shows "Processing" as the Status for each item in the order. Does this mean the USPS is processing a tracking number or something else?

A previous order this year was ordered on a Friday and shipped out the following Monday. My present order was ordered on a Tuesday and now the following Monday, there is still no tracking number.

Well perhaps the USPS was reading this thread LOL, because shortly after I posted my original message, I received an e-mail notification that my order has shipped. . .

I suppose the knowledge gained is that "Order Complete" is just an intermediary step and that maybe they are swamped with orders now because of the forthcoming Forever rate change.

I recently had several orders with USPS.com. On two of them, I had trouble getting the payment using PayPal to go through. They were listed as incomplete/open orders. Once the payment went through I received the stamps quickly.

So "complete order" just means that your payment cleared and your order has been received and sent for processing.

The stamp order probably then gets sent to a distribution center. I think the "processing" just means that the distribution center has not filled and sent the order and most importantly updated the computer system. Its just an administrative tracking process thing. I'm sure it happens in all businesses.
