Two Monaco prints: Are these "black prints" although they have 2 colours? Printing Works propaganda? Both up close are breathtaking in their illustration of the genius of Slania. The building entrance up the hill, the right hand gate post has strange engraving that may be one of Slania's "hidden messages" I presume the monogram is (G)race and (R)ainier. Both damaged through poor housekeeping. |

The lower sheet (Princess Grace) is SG MS1611(1983), Michel B22. The upper sheet is not in SOTW 2009, but is probably SG MS1829, in Michel B37. |

The 3 lower stamps, depicting David, were trials issued by the now defunct Swiss company, PTT Stamp Printing Works (found on Ryan's earlier link of stamp printers). If you google the company name you can find some information on these and other colour versions. |

Come on, Rodney, you know it doesn't! It must have been a relief to see the Weagles win last night. |

Quote: we are the old dark navy blues....... Hehehe good win today, Old Juddy played like he never missed a game. I heard a whisper 22crows barracks for the Saints, who may just get whupped by the Dockers, who are on a roll Golly, It's good to be back into the footy season. Yet my footy collection is disgraceful, I don't think I have one MUH. |

Recovering this old topic. I think that the personage that Rod wants to identify is Charles/Karl/Carlos/Carles V of Hapsburgh (Ghent, Belgium, 1500 - Yuste, Spain, 1558). Holy Roman Emperor, Archduke of Austria, King of Castille, Count of Barcelona(1516-1556)... Among many other titles. The leading figure of the European 16th century. By the way, he got the news of being elected emperor, while being in Barcelona, as he was also our own Count: Carles Ist. |

Greenpeace has for several years issued cinderella or local post stamps for use on their campaign support vessels and also in the earlier years from their Antarctic Base situated in the Ross Dependency. These stamps pay the cost of postage (or local carriage) on postal articles from the vessels concerned to the nearest regular postal collection point. These stamps also raise funds for Greenpeace conservation tasks as well as publicising their projects. Stamps are denominated in New Zealand Dollars and have been issued through their Auckland Headquarters. Sheets have 4 different $1.25 stamps giving a face value of NZ$5. This is the only one I have currently, but you can see more here http://www.newzeal.com/steve/greecind.html You |
