Hi,
Any information regarding this stamp would be appreciated - sadly in poor condition. I think it may be from the Russian Civil war.

Thank You

It is a 1907 Imperial Crown ,it is from a 11 stamp set . it is the second stamp in the set 5k to 5r. It is a standard revenue stamp .Printed with alternate rows inverted in the sheet,in panes of eight stamps across. It has minmium value .

Yes it is from the Russian Civil War, South Russia: Revenues issued 1918, A Russian general duty revenue overprinted in red.

I didn't see your overprint on your stamp, however I do see some red ink that has seeped into the paper so.

Catalog: Barefoot RU-CW SR21

Hope this helps.

It is Scott AR16, the lithographed 1918 Russia general revenue issue.

ROGDCAM ---- I think what Scott Classic Catalog is saying is that it was authorized / used for POSTAL usage in 1918 . But the stamp was issued back in 1907 .

Floortrader - The stamp design, but not the OP's exact stamp, first shows up in Zagorsky in 1909. Michel 139A is the OP's stamp issued in 1918 with a reference to 1905/1907 and 1917. So yes, the design was used over a period of time for multiple purposes.
