Phantasy Stamp.

"Good things come to those whom wait"
For years was aware of a journal "ATALAYA" but never came across
them here in Australia.

Just received several copies from member CALSTAMPS
Thanks Jim.

Atalaya? you ask

The name Atalaya is primarily a female name of Arabic origin that means "Watch Tower".

Now that makes sense.

Atalaya is an interesting journal. I have the Summer 2010 issue, which I bought directly from Mr. Brunström eight years ago, because it contains an article on some Cinderellas that I was researching at the time.

Rod.

"You say tomato, …."

True. One definition of "atalaya" is "watch tower".

However, I take it to mean "vantage point". (Such as from an editorial perspective.)

Likely different sides of the same coin.

Alas, only Mr. Bronstrom can provide the definitive answer.

Thanks Jim,
I was surprised to see Atalaya used in many google results,
I chose the one I thought best suited the journal.
It still remains an awkward curiosity to me.

"Vantage Point" I get that, interesting.

I do wonder why Mr. Brunstrom used that term, esp for a philatelic Journal.
Perhaps for the generally "non conformist" content ?

I just remembered that La Atalaya is the title of the Spanish-language edition of the Jehovah's Witnesses' magazine, The Watchtower.
