I remember the previous administration withdrawing from the UPU. While I'd wondered about the effect - would we have to resort to Prussian Closed Mail again - did we rejoin?
So Trump's threat and the following compromise agreement reached may save the USA $300-500 Million each year, and the USA is still part of the UPU? How about that! For some reason, I don't remember reading the good news...
At the start of this year, Royal Mail added the US to the "World Zone 3" category. Prices for large letters and small parcels were significantly increased. For example, a 1kg small parcel to the US now costs £23, cf. £17.65 to Canada.
