I feel that Ghana, Gambia, Tuvalu, and modern Mozambique are greatly under-loved. |

Agree. If memory serves, there was time when collecting UN stamps had a certain cache. Which for me included a "field trip" to the postal station at UN headquarters in Manhattan.
(Stopped by the UNPA in Geneva a few years ago. Much lower "tingle" factor.)

Individual event topicals, Couple years back ran into large collection of glassines of 1963 'Freedom from hunger' stamps in mint condition. Put it together as topical collection. |

Quote: It seems United Nations collections can't be given away. Indeed. I have a FDC collection from the 70s, and they are the most colourful and attractive ones I own. They are in great condition, no yellowing or staining, but I don't see any demand for them. I'll just hang onto them until I part with everything. |

For me its clearly modern stamps. Some of them are so beautiful, their design rich and detailed. But I dont feel there is a lot of love for modern stamps.

Love modern EFOs. I am ok with people not loving them today, because if/when they are discovered, people will realize just how narrow a market 50 or less stamps will satisfy if there is a demand pickup. Its a firesale today IMHO.

Linus-There was a time in the US when collecting used blocks was very popular, and many inexpensive 1900-1940 US singles are very tough to get as used blocks. |

revcollector Yes, the popularity is not there, and I fear a lot of old used blocks have been broken up over the years. I enjoy the hunt for blocks like these two from my collection. I enjoy seeing the whole postmark on a block, and you know a good one when you see it. Just one of the ways I enjoy this hobby. Linus |

I have a large number of used US blocks of four that I have never found any buyers for, I agree that this currently is not a popular collecting area. Don |

Thanks for showing your block. I have a bunch of those old two-cent reds in blocks. They moved a lot of mail, back in their time.

My pleasure. Now that I have a working scanner again (Canon Lide 400) there is no stopping me. |
