Ran into these and have no idea what they are. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bob

John

Thanks for the rapid reply. Is there a resource that would allow me to get more information... like year of manufacture, etc...?

Done over a span of decades. I understand he donated a set of his "work" to APS/APRL. If they don't have information with the donation, then anyone's guess. You have a decent starter set there.

Thanks much for the link. A very interesting read. Is there a catalog or list that shows how many of these labels were created? Does anyone deal in them so I can get an idea of how much of a "starter" this grouping compromises?

Wow - some of those would make nice collateral items in a display.

Thank you John for sharing this information... I have collected so many cinderella stamps and labels throughout my collecting lifetime and and the Dave Churchman identification was very informative and a chance to add a valuable notation to my collection.

Bump. Having scanned a few more Churchman fantasies ... this one seemed appropriate for wintertime:

The Gnaw Bone and Toad Hop official seal mimics were made for real crossroad villages, but which never had post offices. Very convincing when printed on vintage paper stock. These often fool ebay sellers/ buyers, who think they are unlisted seals. I wonder if Scott should have a specific note about these two?
