Ive been gathering info on the DDR 5 Year Plan set and came across an older post which referenced the Midwest Philatelic Society and a link on there site http://www.midwestphilatelicsociety...Default.aspxunder Services then Tools. I get an error message when trying to load it and have emailed the President and Webmaster for the Club and have gotten no response.... Does anyone know if they are still an active Club? I have gotten some info from some other sites but am curious to access what they have to compare to what I've found. If anyone has any links to share here, please reply. What I have is either very broad or very detailed (and a little confusing) so im still looking. I have found a few posts on this site too. Tks much

Tks Rob. I have seen that one and for some reason, the way its laid out is a little confusing to me.... I have seen a nice chart Rod222 did also. I think im going to try and lay it out one 1 chart. If so, ill put it up here. Im looking forward to what others put up here too. |

Stamps4Life, My go-to site for the DDR 5-Year Plan was on Jay Carrigan's website. It apparently is no longer available. I have a Pdf of his charts that identify the various issues. If you're interested, shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you. Dan |

I am willing to publish this on Stamp Smarter if desired. It may even be a good candidate for a Community Project so that others can access and update the listing. Don |

Don,
I would be more than happy to share this information on Stamp Smarter. I have just one concern. Websites sometimes disappear like this one apparently did. In anticipation of a website disappearing, I sometimes copy the information to OneNote and make it into a .Pdf or .docx file for my personal use. That's what I did here. It is basically a capture of his charts. I don't want to run afoul of a copyright problem.
PM me if you're interested
Dan

We had a thread about it here at SCF, titled "German Five Year Stamps". |

Thank you for the information on Mr. Carrigan's passing. My condolences to the family and all who knew him.
I think this incident illustrates what our moderator, Don, has been saying for a long time. Without sharing information on websites like Stamp Smarter, we will lose a lot of philatelic information that has been painstakingly accumulated over the years.

Jay Carrigan lived right down the street from me in Hendersonville NC. I have his original work and will use it to make a new reference with some improvements. I'll let folks know when it is posted on Stamp Smarter. Don |

Don.
Thank you again for stepping up.
Believe I was gifted an early version of Carrigan's DDR 5-Year Plan matrix. Yet like many others on SCF, would appreciate access to an updated version. Let me know if you wish assistance bringing this to fruition.
Bottom line: Knowledge shared is knowledge preserved. |

Thanks to all who have helped. Tks again Dan. Roberto, that site you posted is very helpful too. Nice to be able to just click and quickly see the difference. I was mistaken also - the older ddr post I saw had a helpful layout by rod222, but not a chart as I thought. Nonetheless, A good process to help in the sequencing. Good idea to get this up on the site too….. Thanks again. |
