Who will send personalized selections for specific countries? Or is that obsolete and too much to hope for ?

Warning though, for some of them you will never get rid of them. I still occasionally get a packet from Kenmore after DECADES of not requesting them. It doesn't matter how many times I've told them to knock it off, once or twice a year they still show up.

On Jay Smith's website he still lists approvals as a service. While his expertise is in Scandinavia his stock is worldwide in scope. It would be worth checking out and sending him an email to see. If I wanted approvals he's the first person I would contact.

With all the resources "out there" now for buying stamps; like the APS Stamp Store; I'm not sure why anyone would want to mess with approvals.

The one "approval" source that no one mentioned is the APS circuit books. The one good thing here is that you do not have to worry - the APS stands behind these books. And to me at least, looking before you buy is important!
