Hi - I was looking at a few lots in a Kelleher online auction going on this weekend. I notice in the terms and conditions regarding extensions:

Quote:
(e) Expenses incurred by a purchaser in the submission and the return of a
lot under Conditions of Sale 7 is not subject to refund.

So if a person wins, gets an extension and submits, and it comes back with issues, the price of certification is not refunded? Also, I notice they need it back within 4 weeks which is kind of tight.

Has anyone had to deal with Kelleher on such a thing and how did it go? Thanks.

Yes, if you have them submit the lot to PF, the turn around time is much faster than I ever get on my own. That really take the 4 week time period out of the equation. Thankfully nothing I have had them submit has come back with an issue, so not sure on the fee. I do know they do not charge me the fee until after it is returned, so that makes me think they would not change me if is comes back negative.

In August of 2019 I purchased a US Scott 313 from Kelleher for $1920 with tip. It had a cert and was not eligible for extension. I sent it to the PF with other stamps for fresh certs and it came back with some issues in November 2019. I contacted David Coogle and he immediately offered a full refund which included the cert cost. They stood behind their lots even though technically they could not have.
