Hello! What would be the approximate estimated value for these two colorful covers in your opinion "marketwise"? Maybe hard to say, but lets say it went on ebay what would you be willing to pay for these two? I don't know if I'll keep them or put them out for sale. I have small knowledge on Hong Kong. I mainly collect USA and scandinavia. Thank you, and have a good one! :-)

I am not a cover collector, but there is certainly nothing special about the stamps. I believe a dollar US would be adequate, but I will leave it to others more knowledgeable to chime in |

Establishing a value for a cover (postal history) is often an art. It depends on many factors such as the stamps, postmarks, rate, send, recipient, contents, over size/condition, eye appeal, etc. Only the marketplace can give you a price point for that day. I have never been afraid to list an item on ebay at a modest start bid level and with a detailed title/description and let the marketplace tell me what it is worth. I have often been surprised. |

Best way to get that estimated market value is to check some online marketplaces - e.g. ebay, Delcampe with a search like "hong kong cover 1953" - and see what similar covers are selling for. |

I find it a bit odd that the Par Avion label is on top of one stamp and underneath another. |

I'll take a punt on £30-40 for the 1841 2d blue, assuming the pink marks aren't thins. |

There are no thins except for a tiny dot within the upper white margin, 0,5 millimeter spot/dot. Can only be seen when the stamp is held against strong light. Otherwise spotless |

Agree with Don about looking for pricing comps. Best to look for SOLD items. Sellers can ask any price they want... |

Hi,
The 2d Blue imperforate is the 1841 version with a small crown watermark. normally sells for between £10 and £15. |

Yes it is from 1941 but this is a bit thicker, feels like twice as thick as the others from the same series. So I looked it up and it seems like the one with thick paper has higher value than the other two. I'm probably wrong. |

I wouldn't write off that first KGVI cover so fast. The pale brown 1¢ stamp cats $12 off cover and the 2 - Gray 2¢ stamps cat $7 each off cover assuming they are the 1945 perf 14½. Doesn't appear to be a philatelic creation although a couple of stamps are being used 6 years after release date. The latest 50¢ release date I see is 1947. |
