The seller defined these stamps as MD - minor defects. I see missing parts of stamps. Would you agree that it's only "minor defect" and not, say, filler grade?
Rob

I'm guessing you will get maybe 50% in collector grade stamps. The rest will be filler trash can grade.

Just curious: What was the full description? And what did you pay?

Thanks,
Pat

Missing pieces are more than minor defects. "Faults" would have been a more correct term, and the seller should have stated that several have pieces missing.

Holes, tears, creasing, corners missing, foxing or toning, cut into, perfs missing, pieces missing, pen cancels and tape removed print from face. Minor? I would not call them that. More Faulty would be reasonable and accurate as Clasic states. In my opinion- and not wanting to be harsh- A giveaway for a small child to learn from and maybe a couple of space fillers hardly worth the hinge.

The sale title was "Ireland lot 218 stamps 142 different NG MD 2019 Scott $319.80" (I doubt that Scott was referring to THIS quality of stamps in the used stamp prices).
The price wasn't high, 1$ plus 1.30$ shipment, but that doesn't justify misrepresenting an offer.
My previous purchase, from a seller I respect and often buy from, was "801 Europe stamps mostly all diff." for a total of 10.75 USD, so low price and honest representation IS possible.

The seller should have described the lot by specifying the damage and giving an approximate (or specific) number, or percentage of damaged items.

Was a picture of the stamps available to you before purchase?

Yes, it's the picture from ebay, but only when I downloaded it and saw the enlarged pic I got aware of the quality and quantity issue.

Below is a link to the listing. The picture above is right out of the seller's listing so I don't really understand the complaint. Yes, the description is an outright misrepresentation and the item specifics state "MNH" but a picture is worth a thousand words. it is even zoomable. The 100% feedback rating is the usual silliness since all of the sold items are the same type of bottom of the barrel kiloware. Worth a penny a piece? You be the judge.

Seller could have tossed out the obvious trash and still advertised for $1 or less than one penny each.
Would have given better good will for both sides.

Kitchen Table Philately (KTP) would have had a field day with this one.

After seeing the picture it looks like the type of lot you buy expecting to throw half away.

It's not always about the money.

Quite true. Thus Ebay/Paypal are set up essentially as an approval service. Don't like an item, return it a full refund. Don't need a reason.

Frankly, I would be embarrassed to post that I had failed to look at the photos closely, since the photos are part of the description - even more than any words.

Dear John
We love you even if you have a reading comprehension disability. The topic is not price, it's about the impudence to call this "minor defects".
As for what you would be embarrassed about - I would be embarrassed to trash another member here this way just to appear smart.

I had a lengthy reply, then decided it wasn't worth the electrons and deleted it. Good luck.
