I'd be interested to hear what everyone has for goals in 2022. As I am new back into the hobby, my goals are
1. organize what I have to date 2. Find a replacement for my 1997 Harris Liberty US album, and start filling it. 3. find or create some type of spreadsheet to track my collection. 4. Find a decent, but not expensive, Finland album 5. Read a couple thousand topics on this board. The depth of knowledge on this board still amazes me. 6. continue to enjoy the collecting journey.
Simple goals, but to me very important first steps. Otherwise I may just pack them all up into totes again and think about it 6 years from now.

1) Dispose of my Russia collection 2) Start a new collecting journey 3) Make a concerted effort to help new collectors 4) Be more tolerant of the fellow collectors that make me feel like I am wearing wool underwear in August 5) Patent my tong/tweezer design that has an integrated led light and one end that doubles as a writing implement 6) Don't drink and mount 7) Don't drink and post 8) Make the APS more self aware when it comes to acronyms such as GASS
Most of all I need to learn more every single day and the good people of this forum are the most valuable resource. |

1 - Refrain from buying any more large, general worldwide collections.........If I can help it. 2 - Focus any buying on smaller, more specialized lots, better singles or other individual items. 3 - Try to attend more stamp shows and stamp club meetings. 4 - Work more on wantlists, which I've been really bad at lately. 5 - Mentioned in another thread - mounting 9600 stamps in 2022. |

Resolutions only requires writing some words, but results require action. So my action list is as follows;
- Be vertical and dressed each day - Live and not just survive - Foster more tolerance and less divisiveness in our hobby - Rise above the little things and drama - See the good people in our hobby and forgive the jerks more readily Don |

I need to clear some clutter, so I plan to * sell off some US duplicates * sell or give away some small boyhood worldwide accumulations by country (I only collect US & France, and two topicals, so the rest needs to go). * sell off or donate a good number of non-philatelic books to make space in my study/office so I can better organize the philatelic
And meanwhile: * make another push on my French album with AlbumEasy. * avoid hasty or imprecise posts * read more of the literature * eventually get some material back from PF certification (extensions and other) so I can finish up some AlbumEasy pages to supplement my US album.... * make a pilgrimage to the APRL (APS Library) with a set of pent-up research questions. Perhaps once the Omicron wave subsides. |

Mine are:
-Attend my first stamp show. I might have to wait until Sept 2022 - as that is when there is a big show in Houston -Visit my first stamp shop (hard to find) -create my own album pages for my MX revenue stamps -learn how to better navigate the MEPSI site to learn more about my Mexico stamps and revenues and take advantage of the resources available to members -continue to build my GB and French collections.

Quote: Visit my first stamp shop (hard to find) There aren't any decent shops around us, but yesterday, we made the rare trip out to see family where one of the last decent ones is and... figures, it's New Year's Day and everything is closed. |

Make a deliberate attempt to fill in the gaps. Been tolerant of attainable, missing issues for far too long. |

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. My collecting has been a bit aimless over the past year or so. For 2022, I hope to:
1. Get my Austria collection organized and mounted. 2. Organize my Hungary collection and determine how I want to mount/display it. 3. For the rest of the world, concentrate on the lower end of the CV spectrum. There are a lot of stamps cataloging under $10. I'd like to see how many I can accumulate into a collection.

These are always interesting to do - for 2022, it's mostly continuing stuff I started last year.
Continue to focus my personal collecting on & learn more about the Canada King Edward/George V period, upgrading all to MNH and adding interesting shades, varieties and multiples Continue to pare down other collecting areas - last year, sold off my French Africa, Ecuador, classic worldwide., now down to Canada, French Morocco and Fiume. So this year perhaps get rid of everything but classic Canada. Continue to have fun, deal with great customers, and enjoy running our online stamp stores with my wife and son, which also has the wonderful benefit of allowing me to enjoy handling (and owning for a short time) so many more classic stamps than I would otherwise be able to.

I am getting back into this hobby after many years of abscence. My plans are to: 1 - Organize what I already have. 2 - Read and be more active in this community as I will need a lot of help identifying a number of stamps. 3 - Make my home office more organized with my job / baseball cards and stamps. 4 - Resume my collection of Lithuania. 5 - Buy more collections and have fun! Visit my favourite brick and mortar stamp shop before it closes in April, with a shopping list of wants, that I want to see before I buy. I will also no doubt benefit from hearing the owners good advice one last time |
