Got An Official Response From HipStamp On Ebay Sync

I requested a written status on this and got it. Here's what they confirmed:

the current ebay sync will copy all listings from ebay and add any new listings added to ebay.

It will not propagate edits - e.g., if you change a price that will not be reflected in Hipstamp

They cannot get access to the SKU/custom id and though they are looking for a solution, they have no date by which this will be fixed

Items sold on hip are not deleted on ebay - must be done manually

Bottom line, the only real functionality is:

1) 1 time bulk copy from ebay (excluding SKU)
2) new items copied from ebay (excluding SKU)
3) items sold on ebay are deleted on hipstamp

TBD:

a) delete from ebay when hipstamp item sells
b) copy edits
c) capture SKU

ebay is deprecating the legacy APIs. The new one they want you to use is much more difficult to get working. I've got about 30 hours into it already and haven't made a single successful API call yet.

This *may* be what's happening to HipStamp.

That's my understanding too. Sounds like Hip is able to partially read the API, but not write to it.

I'm glad you were able to wrangle a formal response out of them. I'm not returning though. This entire episode has left a foul taste in my mouth with respect to the amateur and unprofessional way they've handled it.
