Moving on to other weird mistakes. Can someone explain this one for me. This is Unitrade #723 Most of the stamp is printed properly but the lines on the left of the building are moving away. Wish I had the whole pane to understand better. This is not normal. Any attempts at an explanation? |

BK - That entire color is misregistered throughout the stamp including the car bumper and rear window, all of the building outlines, "Canada 50", "Postage/Postes" etc.. That is a REALLY cool piece showing the progression of the misregistration. That issue has many errors. |

I agree that this is a progressive misregistration. Does that mean that after the colors get printed it, the whole sheet goes through crooked? The printing plate can't move but the paper can.???? Wish I had the whole sheet. |

Hi bk80: My belief is that your stamps are Scott/Unitrade 723A, which was printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company and experienced many printing errors and mis-alignments. The standard Scott/Unitrade 723 was printed by the British American Bank Note Company. The Darnell catalogue lists many of these printing errors. |

Thanks Stamporator! Rookie mistake on my part. 723A it is. So, any ideas about how this could happen? |

If you were to describe this to sell it, how would you word it. Let's get creative. Canada #727 And a close-up that you would not show in the advertisement. To me it's still Mint never hinged. |

Canada Scott/Unitrade 727 MNH Kluane Commemorative with rare "Peanut Butter" error. Only one has been found. A marvelous addition to any advanced EFO collection and crying out to be exhibited with the equally rare "Raspberry Jam" error. Superb.

I was expecting something like "slight inclusion" but your description is hilarious. I can't stop laughing.

Canada #727 Surprise consignment from bargain bin at Goodwill. Why crave for gum perfection when you can own something to talk about. Don't render your friends speechless with perfection. This completely genuine postage stamp with a wood chip stuck in its backside is totally unique and it will start a conversation. It may have a 2 on the front but it is no 1 in anybody's books. A real gem that is impossible to fake. Don't be fooled by talk of peanut butter. Buy with confidence but don't lick it, you may get a splinter.

May I offer another little gem. What is wrong with this one? Any takers. What can we learn from this one? It is Canada Unitrade 586c |

No takers??? Why is this a little gem? A quick look will confirm that indeed it is 586c in the Unitrade catalogue. But a closer look at the far right side will maybe puzzle you. Can you guess yet? |

Exactly and thank you Casey Magoo, I find it interesting that this is a known variety and it is mentioned in McCann under Bk76i ($100.00) as well as Harris' "Caricature and Landscape..." "Tete-beche booklet (qty:30)" with no pricing. And it is completely missing from Unitrade Specialized Catalogue of Canadian Stamps. A tete-beche on modern Canadian stamps is rather unusual. Thank you for responding. |

Yes Casey, I was writing a response to the previous post when your post was put on. Yes 1362iii is rather nice but out of my league unless it fell in my hands. I see a lot of untouchables on the net and I learn. I'm posting only what has landed in my hands throughout the years. I will need help later on the figure out about printing techniques. I am trying to read as much as I can at this time. Lot's of knowledgeable people on this forum. |
