I have a collection of a few thousand somewhat ordinary covers. I was looking at a picture of one a few minutes ago that I had scanned a while back. It's missing the date slug, but it is addressed to an Earle Barr. I have many of his covers but I've never met him. I just Googled him now, and he passed away 24 days ago. It turns out he was quite an interesting man and a talented artist. This past Saturday I Googled a good friend from high school's name, just to see what came up. I don't use Facebook so I'm not as connected as some people. Turns out he passed away last May at the age of 53. I've got a bad streak going here. Here is the cover and this fine man's obit.

He was a very interesting artist! Very prolific. I like his work titled "a hint of winter"

I now have to think long and hard about how I got my hands on all of his mail. We both live in Central Ontario so I'm familiar with all the places he's lived.

Looking through all of these covers, I'm convinced he was a square dance caller too. Not many of them around.
