Siegel just posted two new sales. Lot 1169 in sale 1254 is an extensions balance (lots that were sold in prior sales that were returned on the basis of fault called on a new certificate). After listing the stamps the description concludes:

Quote:
we anticipate spirited bidding on this lot from certain parties who will no doubt manage to lose a few of the newer certificates

Everyone reading this thread might not realize this. In any case, lots such as this one should have every item scanned, to help prevent that from happening.

Prevent what from happening? The buyer from reselling items without "losing" certs? Lost me on that one. Or are you saying that every buyer will go to Siegel and research the stamp that they are buying and come across that group lot and see the scan of the cert that is missing and......

Obviously not EVERYONE, but some collectors will. And some might post on sites like this one. And even if it only helps one or two collectors, it's a win. Every little bit helps.

That's funny. The really funny part (like 'smells funny' not 'you are so funny') is that it is probably 100% true. The lot describer simply committed catalog space to something that everyone thinks when they view such a lot anyway. Telling it like it is. What a concept!
