My brother-in-law kindly gave me some FDC's and this UX12 card. Am I correct in assuming that companies would pay the postal service to have these printed for their private use?
Thanks,
Stephen

The USPOD did not print any messages. This card was printed by a private print shop or the sending business itself. To facilitate this, the USPOD sold mint cards in press sheets which were then printed by the print shops, then cut to postal cards size.

I would assume that companies would buy the postal cards in bulk and then send them to a print shop to have their ads, promotions, etc. printed on the blank side.

I collect advertising covers and postal cards and the market for advertising postal cards such as yours is pretty strong.

In what price range would a cover like this fall? I have a small number of such covers from a box I've had so long I can't even remember acquiring it some decades back. lol ...maybe its time they saw the light of day somewhere else.
