What is the best way to preserve and store covers with wax seal.
I store my covers/envelope in vinyl pages and 3 ring binder.
My question is how to prevent from the wax seal to break or crumble?

A Google searched turned up a huge amount of great info. This one is from the Network for Research,
History, Art, Preservation and Use of Seals.

***Not an expert answer*** I have a basement that never gets above 20 C. I have some covers with nice wax remnants that I just leave loose in a small storage unit. I keep other covers in Vario sheets but I would worry about the wax flattening out over time. So, my delicate covers just stay loose so they can breathe...

rogdcam,

Thank you for this great site.

Casey Magoo,
Thank you for the advice, I will store the covers in a small box.

I have a modest collection of pre-stamp covers from the UK and also have them stored loose in a box in a cool dry environment.

I handle them carefully when examining them.

I was wondering the same thing. I also have a couple of old letters, and one just folded and still postmarked. Wax sealed.
These are my first really old letters and some with perf penny reds.
