Hi War Eagle

The stamp you have scanned was part of a set that was issued between 1893 - 1900. It has a value (in my 2000 edition) at 30 Rupees (less than one dollar)

now if the overprint was inverted it would get you 500 $ at least

You might just like to check to see if the watermark is inverted. It's listed at £700 used this year. (The watermark should be a star, with one point facing upwards and two downwards. If it's inverted, the single point would face down.)

has it ever dawned on you that we are one person too many? if both our knowledge was inside one person we would become the defacto opinion on indian stamps. sigh
