Hi All,

I have just started collecting USA stamps. I purchased a 2018 Scott catalogue which is helpful but also confusing at times - possibly reader error.

i did however find the 'Stamp identifier' App for my iPhone and it has been very helpful providing date of stamp issue and sometimes the various catalogue numbers associated with the stamp.

it works with the phone camera and gives results in seconds, it has identified ~90% of the stamps I have used it with.

May be of help to some less experienced members like myself.

I use it all the time for WW stamps. Way faster then hunting through Scott's catalog. Sometimes I need to reshoot the picture to get it to work on tougher ones, it has saved me countless hours identifying stamps.

Yes, I've used the app with a high success rate. I like how it gives Scott and SG identifiers (in most cases), plus year and lots of other information. A good resource. Here is a screen shot:
