Hi All,

I'm cataloguing my late grandfather's collection, and he had this one (apologies for the dirty / damaged image) filed under Turkey. It looks like it may be Turkey, with teh star and crescent, but I can't find it anywhere. Any thoughts would be appeciated.

Kind regards

Richard

Have you tried revenue stamps? Www.stampworld.com shows a bunch of them, but you can also google "Turkish revenue stamps.

Wondering if this isn't one of those Turkish municipal stamps?

As others have said it is a revenue stamp from the Ottoman Empire.

I don't think it is a municipal issue.
