New Dead Letter Office Video Presentation

I put together a short (12 minutes, I dislike painfully long presentations) introduction to the US Dead Letter Office (DLO) and some of its collectibles.

Well done, Don, as an introductory summary. Can you check our data base on USPO forms to make sure the DLO forms you have a copy of are included in it? I notice you did not mention how the DLO handles registered letters. Yep, they get some. Best regards, Russ

I wanted to do an 'introduction' type presentation because I feel that many philatelic presentations tend to be done by folks who have studied a topic for years and have a depth that exceeds the attention levels of many people. I think that while those 'deep dives' might be good for a very small specialist audience, many casual hobbyists struggle to stay focused when barraged with 45 minutes of minutiae. My intent with this kind of introductory presentation is to interest the majority of hobbyists who are not already experts in this part of US postal history.

Just watched the presentation, Don. Thank you so much for putting that together. It was informative and interesting. I may have found a new area to collect!

One statistic I have not been able to find in my research was the success rates for processing the "patients". There is a Inspector General's report that references the modern day 67 million figure but states that there is no available information on how many cases are successfully reconciled.

I have to agree with rogdcam, very informative and well done. Thanks for an interesting and informative 15 minutes.

Yet another example/reason why I like this forum. Free information that is well done and full of the facts you didn't know you actually needed. I love this place.
