A Small Collection Of Early (1860's) British India Stationery Envelopes

Any idea of their pupropse - official or private? They seems to be bi-lingual addressed - possibly Sanskrit and Arabic? Any comment will be highly appreciated, thanks!

I have scanned all of them on both sides... looks that I have mixed them by mistake... however, hope that all is visible...

What looks like Arabic script is actually its grandson, Urdu, probably but not necessarily for that language on these covers.

The second languages are likely address translations /additions probably done at the receiving post office. Note for the cover at upper left, English was not the first language at Chitogarh. It [looks to have been forwarded with (I think) several delivery attempts noted at the bottom. The back has a black notation in Brahmi script; I don't know what the sepia one is in.

I have to say it does not help your post at all to mix up the front and back of covers.

About the mixing-up fronts and backs - I just wanted to scan all covers on a minimum space, and didn't want to remove them from the sleeves because they are very fragile... and all of them are soooo similar :) Respect to you for being able to decipher those scripts!
