Just wondering if any of you have had any success or anything interesting to share from trying to use Google Lens to identify stamps.
I have personally found this new tool added by Google around a month ago to be extremely useful. You basically just take a picture of the stamp on your cell phone and almost immediately will get search results that are almost always relevant, especially with unused issues. It does have the ability to match up cancelled stamps as well as long as the cancel is not too severe.
Google Image Search has been around for a number of years (Google Lens is just an interface to Image Search). https://stampsmarter.org/learning/H...eSearch.html and here is a video I did on how to use it

TIP: You can get much better results if you 'help' Google after submitting the image. In other words, have Google search your image but then also add 'key words' to the Google search box and have it search again. This GREATLY enhances the likelihood of getting matches (as opposed to not using any key words). Use any key word you can think of for your stamp; a country, denomination, stamp design elements, etc.
