Found a 5c postage due that was previously identified as J4R
I don't have a unitrade to see if this is a valid number or ID,
Is there a J4R?

Looking at it again, I'm questioning if that's a R or something else

It's a lowercase cursive "b", thus J4b, the imperforate variety.

It looks like a J4b, listed in Unitrade Catalog as an imperf pair (w/o gum) (100prs)
VF $500 and F $350. I have no idea on a "single price"

I cant see anyone trimming the perfs off either, the margins are too wide.

Is it used? looks like some type of cancel

It's not used far as I could tell, but there is a impression that I'm not sure about, looks like it's from bad storage

The margins are not near large enough to get a cert. Trimmed J4 is what it is.

This is a thin paper (J4a) from the back scan - the paper is quite distinctive. So trimmed yes.
