We often see single stamps displayed on this forum but some collectors prefer to collect their stamps in blocks as they are sometimes more difficult to obtain in this condition, especially the fine used multiple examples. I am always on the lookout for various stamps in this category on my wants list. Here are a couple of starters to set the ball rolling ! The penny red from plate 199, mint block of 4. A VFU block of 4 of the 1/- 1935 Silver Jubilee from the Falkland Islands. Again, the 1935 Silver Jubilee 6d value from New Zealand in a very fine used block of 4. Single stamps are good but not as good as blocks !!! WM

I praise blocks as well. Much more interesting than singles and still easy to store. I have quite a few multiples but not many of them are scanned. |

Not only are they more interesting, but due to their greater size, a first day cancellation can be made on them without having to be on a cover. Here is the New Zealand 2010 ANZAC set complete with a first day cancellation dated the 7th of April of that year. > This cannot be done with a single stamp !! AM |

Posting a few blocks to bump this back up. I know the resolution is junk through the Vario. |

Here is another interesting block of 9 halfpenny overprints of the 4d Lagos (Nigeria) stamp. Having a block of this size is advantageous as it shows different positional varieties of the overprint found, another interesting find was the discovery of a foreign object under the gum on the middle stamp of the block. Could it be a seed or even a bug, any ideas what it might be ? |

Impossible to say.
What you do have, is a stamp "chad" that was stuck in the surcharge bar, lowest central stamp.

The circle shape could be and looks a lot like a cliche nail.
The nails used to fasten the overprint cliche to the printing machine(i hope I made sence) |

Is this what you mean with a stamp "Chad" rod Here is a close-up view of the object under the gum. What could it be ? |

Hi Casey, Being a GB collector, I particularly like the unused block of 15 penny red plates exhibited, are they 79 or 179 ? Hard to make out visually. |

79. I don't see anything that stands out as a 1 in front. I have some other good stuff to post. It just isn't scanned yet. I do not have an inventory of my stamps. I'm that lazy guy... |

Not having an inventory means that you must have a good memory as to what you have got and where it is Casey. Here is another block or two that you may be more familiar with, being Canadian Admiral coil stamps, I also have a complete set of the imperfs of 1924, but they are in pairs rather than blocks. |

Hello. In Spain it is a very common type of collection, some brands even sell pre-printed sheets for blocks of 4. I have many blocks of 4, but they are all very common stamps. Regards. |

Hey Roberto, Your blocks may seem common to you, but not to others. Here are some common British stamps but from a £1 booklet in se-tenant format, they are nothing special but can be of interest for others. Let's have a look at what you've got, giving additional info if available !!! |
