My vote is Lehigh Valley Rail Road Company; March 2, 1869. Operated 1846-1976, name gone then returned due to RR Corporate mergers and splits and equipment still runs on the track. Ran some interesting, to the model hobby, locomotive stock; 2-10-0, 2-10-2 and an 0-6-6-0

It was one of America's politically correct "C.C.R.R." moving much Pennsylvania coal.

This appears to be a slight variation of the Lehigh Valley Railroad cancellation L-4E in Shellabear's listing of Railroad Cancellations on United States Revenue Stamps of the 1862-1875 Issues. The one illustrated in his book has the month and day on the same line, but this version has the month and day on separate lines.

Just to clarify based upon the thread title: this is strictly a fiscal/revenue cancel. Nothing RPO or postal about it.

Agree. When I first looked at the cancel, I thought it said RPO. I can see now that it is RRCO for "Railroad Company" Thank you for the clarification.
