The need of water on tap for drinking and cooking means that it has to be stored in a container above ground in order to get delivery to the tap via gravitation. |

Minor action but important - carrying your own water bottles or canteen. For example, tap water in the UK is perfect to drink, but too many people buy bottled water and discard plastic waste, still now. I don't understand that at all! Quote: Desalination of seawater I am surprised to see some of those stamps goes back to 1975. Maybe earlier than that which doesn't say on the stamp? Interesting to know that side of history on stamps. Thank you for sharing. |

Natural springs. ~~~~~~~~~~~There are many stamps from Nevis and Saint Kitts that depict a medicinal spring, here are some examples from these volcanic Islands........ Watch "Nevis Hot Springs" on YouTube https://youtube.com/watch?v=IT4eiqvZk_g However there are many other springs that contain medicinal properties due to their mineral content. Below you will see some other variations of springs of the world as seen on stamps............ Unfortunately no postage stamps have been produced relating to British spring waters but many do exist........ Here is just one of them. A well-known spring water in Britain is located in the town of Buxton in Derbyshire. St Ann's Well (Buxton) - Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_...ell_(Buxton) Bottled water from this spring is available and can be purchased. |

Wherever the Ancient Roman had settled, they were keen to find hot-spring (or made a settlement where hot-spring existed?) and made nice bathhouses. So, no wonder the St. Ann's Well has its roots from Roman era, so as this stamp from France. Let's hope a stamp will be issued on that historical Spa town. Icelandic stamp from 1989 shows wonder of nature graphically beautiful, and great to see Saint Kitts & Nevis's spring goddess stamps. France 19 November 1988 / Activities at Spas - "the thermal baths" / design & engrave: J. Delpech |
