Does anyone know if the USPS has released the issue date for the Charles Schulz stamps?

I tried to pre-order these for a friend but they won't ship to Canada. Then I tried to order and have shipped to a friend in the US to forward to me and still no luck.

Would someone from the us be willing to order for me. I Could etransfer the money ahead of time or send via paypal.

Beginner question: What is the advantage of pre-ordering an issue vs buying it on the first day?

For some special items, such as press sheets or limited number items, sell out quickly even on or before the FDI date.

Press sheets are no longer selling out. They increased the supply.

I guess it makes sense then to pre-order a popular issue to avoid an online rush on issue date.

There may be some items that one cannot preorder. I don't know if it's still true, but during the first go-round with no-die-cut press sheets, preorders of NDC press sheets were not allowed. Which created chaos when everyone tried to phone in their order on the first day of issue. I have been told by another collector that he spent nearly an hour on the phone only to be told the press sheet had already sold out.

With the increase in no die-cut press sheets available I have gotten through by phone to order in about ten minutes of the 7am SFS opening on the day of issue.. There are still no pre-orders available for individual press sheets. But, you can order once a year for all the issues before December 31 for the following year. However, there was a hint in Lloyd DeVries' column in Linn's a few weeks ago that SFS may allow individual issues to be pre-ordered in the future..

My order of these sheets came unsealed, which is unusual since all of my orders this year, the sheets are sealed. Makes for better gift presentation if they are sealed. There were minute paper fragments like the sheets had just been cut and on some sheets in a small area, the cut was not perfect and caused a small crease on the middle edge of the sheet. No big deal, but would have preferred sealed.

I ordered the Hot Wheels sheet last year and it came sealed. I ordered it again a few months ago and it came unsealed. Everything I ordered last year was sealed. All the orders I have received this year have been unsealed.
I think the USPS is cutting costs.
