Pulled this out a good stockbook this morning. Surprised at first but my gut feeling is that it is a fantasy piece meant to deceive. I have never seen anything like this before and found no matching reference to it anywhere so far.

I believe the cancel is fake or it is a late usage cancel . I just don't accept the Germans were working on submercibles during the inflation period . What happen after the war ,I believe they lost their submarine fleet or it was stopped after the war .

I've seen this once before on a random ebay lot.

As you can see, it's not a postal cancel. In addition, the tauchboot service was only used during a brief period of WWI, and your stamp is from 1923. Likely just someone creating a philatelic curiosity.

The two cancels above are different-----the 'T" is at the top of the circle and the "S" slopes downward on the first scan . The second scan shows the "TS " at the top together in height .
