1924 C.e Brooks Cover From Noti Or.

A patient cover form Noti Oregon to the inventor of the Brooks Ruptor appliance Stating that he is cured from using his apparatus. Not clear what the extra writing on the cover means. I assume has to do something with the success of his apparatus.

How neat! The envelope appears to be one prepared as a reply to the manufacturer (15874, TEST, Cure, 10/23/20) with docketing by the manufacturer. Possibly all of it was docketed after being received by the manufacturer as a reference note for the manufacturer. Postal history can be fun!

So what I think is happening is that the client sent the letter to the manufacturer asking for another belt. But what happens after that I am not sure. Also the cure is dated 4 years before the letter is sent. what does OCV mean?

Agree about purpose of customer reply. I think the envelope may have been prepared much prior to the specific customer request for the first truss, maybe from a sequence of prepared reply envelopes, so 4 years earlier (3 or so years before this customer request). Maybe I'm reading more into it than there is.

OCV, I have no idea. May have some meaning such as Order Customer Validation/Verification, or maybe something completely different, using a common verbage/vernacular of the period.

ebay has a listing for a post card related to this company. Same test and cure writing. So I think your assumption is pretty close.

Noti (NO-tie) is a tiny timber town situated about 20 miles due East of Eugene, OR. We used to drive through it on the way to the Oregon Coast, but then they built a bypass to the north and now you hardly know it's there.

About all that is left there now is the home of the Cascadian Bowmen, a beautiful 4 course field archery range, a property that the club owns. They've been there on Poddle Creek since 1935!

It is about an hour's drive (on the back roads,) from here, how else would you get to drive thru Crow? Which does have a currently operating mill.
