I have a few Ellen Clapsaddle Christmas postcards. I was going to start a collection of seasonal cards and the Christmas cards were ones that I had come across on ebay. I never really got into the collecting full force, but now I am thinking of playing around with it again. Is there a book on Post Card collecting that anyone could recommend? Donna Merkle

Philb, I did find the magazine that you mentioned on the net. I'm not at my laptop right now, I put it away in my files on that one, but I think it's an online e-zine now. It did look like it was the kind of thing that I am looking for right now, lots of info.
Thanks, Donna |

Now that is beautiful Phil and what a lucky find. You said that you had more? I love the old victorian postcards especially the ones that were designed straight from the artists creativity. Scenic ones were nice too. I liked the scenic ones that were colorized, but still had that sepia style of blending and muting of the colors.

Hello Donna
May I reccoment a couple of books that should give you an idea on the Christmas cards by Ellen Clapsaddle?
I have the following two books that I find quite informative. The books are titled "Postcard Companion: The Collectors Reference" by Jack H. Smith and "The Encyclopedia of Antique Postcards" by Susan Brown Nicholson.
You can Google these titles plus there are other publications that are quite informatve as well.
Hope this helps

Bujutsu, Thanks. I will look those books up. I love adding books to my already growing collection of books to my hobbies. |

Nice one as well phil. A sideways Santa is fine with me. No one can kiss Santa that way. |

Rod, You know every time I think that I am not really going to get too deep in the U.S. stamps something comes up and I'm right back in the pile. There's another one to add to my want list. Donna |

Hehehe resistance is futile That's "The Midnight Angel" by the way. I like her work, although one of the Santas looks middle eastern. |
