Are you asking about volume 1 (1840-1940) or later volumes? Bangladesh did become a country until 1971, when it seceded from Pakistan, which itself didn't become a country until it was partitioned from India until 1947. However, it appears Bangladesh does not appear in Volume 8 (1971-73) when it was issuing stamps, not sure why? Was it embargoed by US? That is why PRC was not included in Scott Int'l until sometime in the 70's.
BTW, In every volume of Big Blue/Scott Int'l --at the end for volume 1, and the beginning for most of the later volumes (less relevant since they are in more straightforward order), there is an index with the order of all countries represented. That has always saved me time compared to flipping through the whole album.
Pakistan was created after the partition of India in 1947. It had two regions, West and East, separated by India. It was a bit awkward, to say the least. West Pakistan later became the modern nation of Pakistan after East Pakistan declared its independence as the separate nation of Bangladesh in 1971.
So, any Bangladesh stamps would only be included in an album dating from 1971 or later. If your album is from 1971 or later, it will have Bangladesh pages in the appropriate volume. If it doesn't, they must have been removed. Some people (like me!) rearrange pages, so also check Pakistan in case they were moved there, though I can't imagine why they would be. You can always add pages. Either browse ebay looking for Bangladesh pages for the Scott International album which are sometimes sold separately or make your own. An easy way is to print Bill Steiner's page onto Scott International sized album paper punched for that album. You can do it yourself, but it's easier to buy them from this guy. You can specify which size paper you want them printed on and which years you want. They'll be punched for the Scott International album if you request that. Not expensive at all.
First Scott Publishing wasn't sure about the first set issued ,was it a unauthorized issue .
Then they had the problem with the Pakistan overprints ........those I keep on stock pages because I am not sure what is a complete set and which overprints are legal or legit .Plus how the catalogs are going to list them .
Stamps4Life, you have one of those Big Blues where all of the volumes are combined by country order. I am in the minority by far and keep them in original volume by year instead of by country. Your 5 volume set (through volume 5) would end in 1963, well before Bangladesh was established as an independent country.

This answers my question about why Bangladesh stamps are not in Scott Int'l vol.8. Nothing to do with embargo or anything.. Bangladesh was not fully internationally recognized as an independent country in 1971 but the earliest issues (in 1971) were considered propaganda cinderellas promoting the idea of Bangladesh as an independent nation, but that was not actually realized until a few years later. Really fascinating stuff! I work with and interact with people from Bangladesh, Pakistan, (as well as India) on a daily basis, and have for decades, but was totally ignorant of this part of the history until just now.
