In person with a good glass, people who have been taught the correct way to examine stamps would catch the drawn in portions. More difficult in average show lighting, of course.

To close the loop, it appears that this stamp is from position 95L9 (as called by sinclair). Here's an image of this position courtesy of the Doporto One-Cent Plating Archive for comparison.
