I was outbid yesterday on a French Cinderella, I won another from the same vendor. he sent me an email "have another like the one you missed out on on the 12th" He gave me the ebay number 1.The number failed to locate the sale 2. I went to other sellers items, had "0" items available (Just like Geoff Ha's ebay) To send the the vendor a note, I had to go through "sign in on ebay" again ebay can be a crock sometimes |

On the problem of foreign buyers being able to bid, I suppose the easiest solution would be to set the international postage rate at the highest potential level (which would be for Australasia here), then refund any difference for those in other postal zones. An additional effort for the peanuts I sell most items for, especially given the added risk of loss. |

No problems, not encouraging you to do anything different, Just explaining how things are.
I am a buyer, I have the entire globe at my feet, excepting those rare occurences. They don't worry me one jot.
One thing to consider, on the item I was outbid on, I increased the vendors return by $4.50 USD
The more interest you have, the better the returns, then maybe not peanuts.
"Postage at cost" would be an option?

I'm not sure. I've always sold overseas, but it is an effort, especially now that everything needs an individual customs declaration, which means queuing at the post office, rather than dropping a package in a pillar box. And then there are people like last month's lady in NSW who asked for a refund after her item hadn't arrived in a week. |

Goodness me, there is always one !
Agree with the customs, I have just sent swaps to Dianne and Jim. Postmaster away with covid, I had everything prepared but took 30 minutes to process, the amount of typing the poor lass had to do was awesome.

The form is OK - I can fill it in at the counter - but much slower than just printing a generic one from the web and sellotaping it to an envelope. |

We can safely wrap up this thread by quoting John Bridges, 436 years ago: "...a foole and his money is soone parted." |

To bring the post I made about purchasing the mis-identified OX1 that arrived but with no stamp inside full circle. This was the listing I purchased a few weeks ago The package arrived in short order but with no stamp inside. Last week the same stamp popped back but this time correctly IDed as shown here... So much for the seller thinking that 'the stamp was in the package for sure'. But I contacted the seller and asked if he would honor our original transaction and to his credit he replied that he would. I waited to post this until the stamp arrived and am happy to report that the stamp is absolutely beautiful (short perfs aside). The horrid image does this stamp no justice at all. So sometimes things can work out after all. Don |

All photos taken by myself (boots4222) are done on manycam software with a Clipper stamp and coin camera. There are some lighting issues. All stamps are genuine in my opinion and anyone not satisified can get a full refund if an item submitted to a certification agency comes bacl as bad. Only 2 items in the past year came bad as not genuine and the sellers were refunded in full. Most of my items come from large auction houses so I assume they are ok. A few items were pulled from my listings once the fact that they were not genuine was pointed out to me. |
