Western Australia: The Stamps And Postal History, 1979 Edition: Does It Cover Cancel Scarcity?

I was wondering about the level of detail on postmarks/cancellations in the book referenced in the title, "Western Australia: The Stamps and Postal History", 1979 edition. Does it mentions scarcity, so I can tell when I've found a "good" cancel?

I'm trying to decide if it would be worth purchasing, just based on the postmark/cancellation information.

Tough question.
I regard it as "The Bible" for Postmark ID
However it only gives a rough estimate of scarcity, without values. (32 Pages)

What most of us do, in Oz, is to marry the ID, with sales at "Premier Auctions"
for values.

Then there is the Western Australian Study Groups 21 x *pdf's
on WA Postmarks A-Z

There is also Moguns Juhl Catalogue

also, John Dzelme 1976 catalogue

All should be desired to give a good in depth avenue into WA Pmk collecting
which is very popular, some WA dealers specialise in this discipline.

So, regarding postmark IDing, how is "Western Australia: The Stamps and Postal History" different than the PDFs on the Western Australia Study Group link that you gave?

The Postal History is the Hardbound real scholarship of all things postal in Western Australia
Chapter 10 is the 32 page Postal Markings with "examples" of postal markings,
cancelling hammers , invoices for hammers etc.

The *.pdf's are copies of all known strikes found on mail, more comprehensive
if looking for an example, where it was located, dates of use etc
shapes, missing letters etc.
