That is a nice error Gilles. Thanks for sharing.
I do not have that serial number in my list. Do you have further info on that number plus any other numbers I do not have (plus info)?
Example: xxxxxx (serial number), 1 or 2 or None cylinder number, counting mark on front of cover or none, which town / city pruchased in, measurements of left and right selvedge if available (or wide left, narrow left will do), if a cylinder 1 then if 2 dots extra exist on stamp in position 2, row 1, column 2 in the wave spiral above the adult otter.
Thank you. |

Here is another interesting, and constant flaw: on 2 consecutive booklets , there are small black trails behind the small middle porpoise. It occurs on stamp A3 and B3 to a lesser extent. I'd like to hear what other flaws exist on this fascinating issue. |

Gilles, Fascinating. I looked at some of the ones I have here and one has the markings on A3 and B3 as you call them, stamps in row 1, column 3 and 2, 3. I like the A3 terminology better. Is this something you created yourself of is it in practice among booklet collectors already? I wasn't a booklet collector before this.
Thank you for the data on the booklet. I was more concerned with any you may have that have serial numbers also to add to the growing list on page 1 of this topic.
As for A3 and B3 stamps, that is where, seemingly, mistakes of printing do happen on these booklets.
Did anyone else keep 600 dpi scans of their booklets that they have sold already? I am trying to keep scans for study and comparison. |

It appears this marine mammals series is becoming a record-setter for varieties and/or errors.
It is right up there with the #15, #610 and #700-710 stamps, among others.
Good for keeping the fly-speck hunters busy; and hopefully, they will bring big bucks.

I purchased a few more booklets and found that the black line behind the purpoise also exist on stamp A3 and B3 that do not have plate number. I found it on 2 stamps out of 15 booklets |

I checked my normal non numbered booklet and found 7 more left over from a drugstore PO outlet in Ottawa. |

After being somewhat disengaged from researching booklets and searching for new numbers to add to the growing (hopefully) list at the beginning of this thread, I decided to pop on to ebay and sell two booklets to see what would happen after a year gone by. One with an Serial number in the Upper selvedge or margin sold for $211 USD and the other with the serial in the more common (90%) Lower selvage sold for $7.97. That was amazing to start with. But then I realized, after the sale, that the Lower selvage booklet did indeed have the black line dashes after the small porpoises on stamps A3 and B3 and I had not mentioned that or noticed it myself. Now I won't know what that error would have brought on ebay, to give a good idea to other collectors also. |

Oh, a question to all??
I have noticed that after a year or less (I do not have the exact time down sorry) the small hardly noticeable black counting marks on the fronts and backs of the booklets have disappeared altogether.
I do not have in my possession any of the fully darkly marked booklets to see how they are doing. The ones I had were sold.
So all of the ones that I have scanned at the beginning of this thread (not sure of the page) that had varying degrees of darkness showing of this counting mark (tab) area are now blank.
I would like to confirm with anyone if they had kept any booklets that had the full black marks and if they are still there. Thank you. |

I think I mentioned before about the different colours on the stamps on the left side of the booklet (the first block of four) compared to the lighter colour on the right hand side (the second block of four stamps).
I have just started to get a few used stamps to try to compare this and other interesting features and wondered if anyone had noticed this also and also had any information about this feature? |

Check my black mark booklet. Still there, doesn't look like it faded. Also had a booklet with a partial black mark. Still there also.
