My name is Richard Solomon, I am retired and live in Vail, Arizona (SE of Tucson). I had been a collector of US,
specializing in Washington-Franklins. Then I got into the High Values of KG VI of Bermuda, Leewards and Nyasaland.
I was introduced to The KG VI High Values by Bill Fletcher of Lexington Stamp, who was my mentor in this field.

I sold those collections prior to retiring, and now feel the urge to return to the hobby.

What most interests me is First Flight Covers, primarily those of Pan American Airways. To start my research in
this area, I would ask the Group if there is a listing or Catalog of Pan Am First Flights, or some generalized Catalog
on First Flight Airmail covers. I found the American Airmail Catalog and have some information coming to see if it
will be of help.

In the meantime, I will be reading the mail, as they say.

Thank you for letting me join,

Regards

Richard S.

Welcome to SCF!

The American Air Mail Catalogue will prove to be an important reference. I don't know if any expansion has been done other than pricing for the newest 7th edition, but the 6th edition is certainly worth it. What you will want is the "Trans-Oceanic Record Flights" section (not mentioned for the current editions so may be under another header nowadays). The rest of the set might just lead you down other paths as well. There are more specific works for Pan-Am flights that I hope someone here can note.

W1KSZ,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ
