Hello everybody,
I've recently found a cover like this one. Does anyone have information about this kind of service? I can't find anything about this "Police car local post". Any help is very appreciated.

Thanks

That pig stamp would have made a lovely English police item.

Seems to be a joke to me. (And one not appreciated by some.)

Do you mean is it a fake label? Not a real delivery service?

Pride
Integrity
Guts

PIG plus an image of a pig equals denigrating law enforcement. A "joke" if you call it that or more like a "statement".

One online reference states, "PIG - pride, integrity and guts - acronym created by police in the US as a positive interpretation of the derogatory reference"

I recall the "PIGS" acronym being adopted by a number of Police Departments back in the late 60s/early 70s as a counter to the derogatory use of PIGS by demonstrators.

When the term, "Pig" was commonly used as a derogatory term used by anti-police folks a couple of decades or so ago, the police took the term, adopted it and turned it into a positive. The use of "pig" by police haters then diminished. Pig product with the slogan also arose such as pig shaped piggy banks.

This akin to the "sister" adoption of two groups poking back at the church, Sisters of Perpetual Motion and Sister of Perpetual Indulgence, both San Francisco originals. Both well worth a Google image search.

Another currently local to me, Donald Novello, made his big money and career as chain smoking, tinted glasses wearing Father Guido Sarducci, poking fun at and with the Vatican. For you baseball fans, her, both as himself and Father came up with the idea of using Portuguese Water Dogs to retrieve splash hit (home runs hit into the SF Bay's McCovey Cove) at the SF Giant's new AT&T Park. This link has both a story and video of the dogs along with Father Guido Sarducci: https://www.mlb.com/news/the-giants...mccovey-cove.

Edited for lack of English.

I remember Father Guido Sarducci well, from when Saturday Night Live was in it's early days.

Back in the 80's one used to hear about the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence a lot, even in NYC.

Defund, while a very poor terminology is a totally different concept. Many police forces get far more money than they require while social services starve. Reducing this inequality would be better for everyone.

I could care less about the politics. The purpose was to show that the pig is still being used by some in a derogatory fashion.

But it isn't. This was clearly used by someone who knew that the police had taken the image and turned it's use around.

Donald Novello was also the genius behind "Lazlo Toth" and "The Lazlo Letters: The Amazing, Real-life Actual Correspondence of Lazlo Toth, American!" where he wrote letters to corporations with suggestions and then published their replies. For at least some of them he pretended to be a kid and they would send him coupons to give to his mom.

I think he welcomed the President of South Vietnam with a $1 bill for him to have his first American meal at McDonalds.

Been a very long time since I read it, but it was a great book!!!
