PR - If you use this forum's "search" tool you will find numerous topics and an incredible amount of information on scanners and imaging. Just type in "scanners" and hit the search button. |

Buy an EPSON Scanner, then I can take you through all the tips and tricks.
When you get to 50 posts, you have the opportunity to swap images (600dpi) 50 images for 50 images all catalogued via Scott.

For good scans, I use an Epson Perfection V600 scanner. Sometimes I need 2400dpi resolution For generic scans, I use the scanner in the Canon printer. I use IrfanView64 to fine rotate and cut the images to size. ...And yes, I absolutely hate those cellphone pictures taken under artificial light, and showing mostly the table the stamp(s) were placed on. |

Personally I use my Canon Lide 120. I use a stamp cataloguing software to manage my collection too.
Like many have already said, any moderately priced scanner will do. |

Normally, I use a scanner. However, sometimes - like showing phosphor tagging or fluorescence - that does not work well. Then, I stack books or boxes and lay my phone on top of them to take a stable picture. This, sometimes, also works for comparing details on stamps. The phone allows for taking enlarged pictures. |

I use the following scanners; 2 Epson V600s 1 Epson V850Pro 1 Plustek Book Scanner 3800L
I use the following software VueScan Adobe Photoshop Corel PaintShop Pro ABBY Fine Reader OCR
I have a Sony digital camera but only use it when something does not sit on a scanner platen. I have previously tried two digital microscopes but did not stick with them (that was so long ago it really does not say much about the current state of digital microscopes).
With the above I have scanned and digitized over 1 million book pages and over 1.5 million image (largely stamps) scans. Don

As OP's profile states he lives in Belarus, some equipment, only, may be available from old stock that has not been exhausted. An embargo on the export of technological equipment to Russia also applies to Belarus. |

For non-professional use the Epson V600 works very well. Even for some types of professional images it works well. |
