Hi,

I came across this Swedish stamp, but was curious about the cancellation, as it looked different.

Is it some kind of straight-line cancel? Anyone have any idea what it says?

It doesn't look much like a machine cancel, due to the angle, and only having 2 lines of text.

Thanks

The angle of a machine cancellation will be subject to the angle of a stamp on its envelope, of course.

Of my 1,900 Swedish Stamps
I have no record of a Slogan postmark until 1969
Then again in 1989
Then 2000 onwards the ubiquitous Crown over Posthorn in circle.

3 slogans in total from 1,900

Vayolene has done it again !

Wow, that was fast! Makes sense to me, the words line up exactly.

Yes, I guess the cancel angle definitely would also depend on the stamp angle on the envelope.

I guess I usually think of stamps being "square" on the envelope, but that's not always the case.
I was hopeful, and thinking of other Scandinavian straight-line cancels, such as the Danish "FRA SVERIGE" cancels or Finnish railway postal stopping place cancels.

Thanks!
