When one needed a revenue stamp in the old days, where did they obtain them from? I cannot find this information. Any ideas? thanks YbT

General stores, banks, law offices, etc. Plus the local revenue office. Depending on the size of the city or town. There are any number of 19th century advertising covers of places which included selling revenue stamps as part of the cornercard.
