How I love it when no one else at an auction takes a second look at something. Knowledge is power as they say. This stamp was shown as pictured as a NFR21 $5 violet. Trouble is they have the wrong King. It is actually a NFR13 $5 lilac with a cat value of $600 CDN. I was the second bid in for $4. I'll take that any day folks.

Thanks - I also picked up for the sum of $6 a strip of three FWT24 wine strips. The cancel clearly says 'tobacco' on it and I will scan it later.

Here are the other stamps now. Not something I was looking for but hard to turn down for 6 bucks. Extra sin tax for drinking wine during the War? Two good additions to my revenues.

Thanks stamp hunting. I only follow a handful of auctions, and if the prebidding gets too high I just walk away. I've hardly bought anything this year due to prices getting out of hand.
