Looking through the types and not convinced that the two shown aren't R20d and 23d, as the paper feels (and flicks) differently than the others.
Can anyone point me to information regarding the paper used, and why there are "d" types on only some of varieties?

The d silk paper did not make it's appearance until 1870. By then, not all plates were still in use, so some types were never issued on silk paper.
