Not exactly! The key, as we've said here before, is to be clear with prospective buyers about you're selling. That isn't an issue with, say, a UK or French auction house, because they will use the standard set of UK definitions. But it is with ebay sellers if they don't define their terms.
One should not try to "learn" primary philately from ebay seller usage. ebay sellers run the entire spectrum from experts to novices. Their knowledge of stamps and the terminology they use has those same quality extremes in their descriptions in addition to the hype some shady sellers use. Identify quality philatelic resources on the internet and in print and use them instead.
John, that's probably for the best! I want to sell some of my collection on ebay but want to be as honest as I can. "What good can come from gaining the world when you lose your soul?"
