Hi there, Recently I was gifted vol 1&2 "Postage stamps and postal history of Canada" Imo, found it a great resource! After reading it I developed a understanding. Might be a silly question, Is "Boggs" vol 1&2 considered reputable literature that could be cited for a study? My bad, edited for correct title

Unquestionably, Bogg's work on Canada is still one lf the pillars of Canadian philatelic literature. |

There is also a one-volume Quarterman reprint that has an appendix with updated notes and corrections from Boggs. However, it does not have all of the correspondence that is found in volume two of the earlier two-volume edition.

Great news, thank you!
"There is also a one-volume Quarterman reprint that has an appendix with updated notes and corrections from Boggs."
Is this easily obtainable? |

It should be available as a used book on ebay, Amazon", or other used bookstores online. |

Thanks, My first searches where too vague, finding more now. "Boggs" paints a great picture… But perhaps they will help add or subtract information, I'll have to see what change they can offer. |

Banser offers the 1970s Quarterman reprint of Boggs at $24.00. This edition omits some of the material found in Volume II of the original set, which Banser also offers at $48.00, a bargain IMHO. |

It's the updated notes and corrections from Boggs, That I am now most interested in. I'll have to wait to get a copy. |

Can studies from a philatelic society be cited without asking by a non-member as long as proper credit and acknowledgment is given to the society for the study? Is it proper to do so?

Your question falls under 'Fair Use'. I am unsure of Canadian copyright laws, but you should be able to do an online search for it... Don |

Yes, you are good. Called "fair dealing" in Canada, but same as fair use, okay for research, study, education, etc... |
